Working on the Manual of Masonry Construction

If you were wondering what I was working on from December of last year through April of this year, here it is! The English edition of the Manual of Masonry Construction by Ansgar and Benedikt Schulz is now available from DETAIL. Masonry is a complex topic: Authors from various disciplines – architecture, structural engineering, sustainability sciences, acoustics, fire consulting, and more – collaborated in creating this extensive book. I translated it from German to English. Finding a way to communicate all involved design and engineering issues to an international audience guided how the English version of the German original was crafted. Key concepts were discussed with the authors. Specific terms were researched, tested, and tested again. Suggestions were formulated, received, integrated.
